Students in their last year of the Design degree from the University of Madeira were challenged to make toys using the CTP lab machines. These toys were accomplished using both low and high technology, design and craft, local and global culture. They were meant to be regionally characteristic for the new creative communities. Some examples of the prototypes created in the M-ITI CTP-lab were the Monachu swing, Bis-Birds mobiles, Balance Leaf mobiles, which use paper and wood, A Lota masks, using the papier mache technic, a dome made of wood and polycarbonate fiber, and a table to hold some wooden toys.
The inauguration of the exhibition happened on the 31st of March at the Armazém do Mercado, in Funchal.
The final products will be exhibited by the Toys Museum, where visitors are able to experiment the toys, until April 30, 2017.
