The SIIDS (Sound, Image and Interaction Doctoral Symposium) was co-organised by the ERA Chair project .
About the conference:
For the last two decades, there has been a growing interest in the study of sound from a Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) perspective. This coincides with the shift to a third wave of HCI toward applications in broader cultural contexts. In the last few years, researchers have paid special attention to the integration of other sensory modalities with sound. In this context, the “Sound and Image Interaction Doctoral Symposium” (Funchal, Portugal) aims to address emerging issues in research related to the creation of interactive sonic experiences, particularly focusing on the role that image plays in these scenarios. The one-day Symposium had two tracks: poster (with oral presentation) and performance (in the evening, at Barreirinha Bar Café, Funchal). The keynote presentation was by Prof. Atau Tanaka (Goldsmiths, University of London), who also performed in the evening. More information at: https://siids.m-iti.org
